Working with community leaders, schools, and centers. She believes the message will reach her city. But first we must reach out to the children of the city. With LOVE, respect, understanding, and interventions. We can’t just say put the guns down. We must dig up the root of the mentality of needing and using one. Until we demonstrate respecting life how do we expect them too. It starts with loving and standing up for our children. Although her grief constantly keeps growing, on May 13th. 2020 gun violence struck her again; taking the life of her baby boy. She is now left with one surviving son. She refuses to allow grief get the best of her. “A Mother’s Love Never Dies.” With all her hard work and dedicated time trying to curb some of the gun-violence. She is now one of the founders to Connect 2 Be The Change after 3 years of placing her boots to the ground she, another Angel Mother, and a line of psychologists and therapist has birth an organization that is changing hearts and mindset to be the change they want to see in their community. As they are impacting the youth and young adults she has realize that it’s not only going to take them to help with the epidemic and trauma in their environment. But she has discovered that she needs them just as much as they need her. She believes that there is a power to change and a power to heal. She works closely with her partners with their youth program. She has a passion of reaching out to other Angel Moms and Dads to help them cope with the lost of their children. Demonstrating that their is a purpose in our pain. She has help navigate these parents in turning their pain into a purpose.
Takisha Jacobs is a single mom of 5 beautiful children. Darius, Aaron jr, Abdul , Ameya & Amiya.
Takisha is known to be a hard worker. Starting her career as a Echocardiogram Technician & Advancing to a Certified Medical Assistant.
July 4, 2017 tragedy struck. Takisha and her children went to visit other family in Indianapolis, IN when her youngest son whom was 15, was shot simply from being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He fought for his life in a hospital bed for 9 days. Unfortunately, on July 12th he passed away. This was a life altering change in her life. The pain, hurt, helplessness, anger, frustration, depression, and the TORTURE, is something No ONE SHOULD EVER have to endure. Losing someone so young, so dear to her heart wasn’t easy to bounce back from, but instead of being angry and upset, she decided to turn her pain into purpose. She has become aggressively passionate about putting an end to senseless gun violence, and helping  people deal with these same emotions she did but in a positive way. The young men who murdered her son, are just that, YOUNG MEN. Takisha is now the Co-Founder of Connect 2 Be The Change, Vice President of Jump for Jesus, & Lead Chief Ambassador Bullets for Life Indiana  and  also an Advocate for Healthy mental health. She plans on continuing her positive reinforcement and educating those who suffer or just need a shoulder to cry on, and most of all put an end to senseless gun violence & Connect2BeTheChange!
